Bridesmaid Revisited

"What do you like better- Christmas or wedding season?" - Wedding Crashers

No matter where your loyalties lie, I have good news.  I saw Brach's candy corn in Walgreens yesterday which means Christmas season is just around the corner.  And as summer fades to fall, chances are you're coming down from wedding guest high.

It seems like everyone I knew had at least one wedding to attend this summer.  And so as we reflect back on all the good times, I thought it would be fun to countdown some of my favorite wedding movies.

Everyone says its the day you dream of your entire life.  Your best friend asks you the question you've been waiting to hear.  You put on a dress that, despite numerous alterations, you'll probably wear just this once.  You walk down the isle with flowers in your hand and a smile on your face.  You smile through your tears during the champagne toast of love and laughter and you party the night away with some of your favorite people. And if you're like me, you'll get to do it a second, third, or fourth time.

Obviously I'm talking about being a bridesmaid.  My marital experience is focused solely on these duties as I've had the opportunity to be a bridesmaid five (going on six!) times.  I mean it when I say being in a wedding party is one of the greatest joys of my life. And that's why in the next few weeks we'll be counting down my favorite wedding movies, as well as a few (censored!) tales of my own times in taffeta, through a series called Bridesmaid Revisited.  This is supposed to be a clever take on Brideshead Revisted.  Just go with it.

So pop a bottle of champagne and call dibs on the cute groomsmen.  Because "I'm ready to partyyyy!"

What to Expect When You're Expecting Review

What to expect if you're expecting to see What to Expect When You're Expecting:

- A lot of beautiful people- JLo, Cameron Diaz, Brooklyn Decker and the fairest of them all- Nate Archibald

- Lots of Atlanta scenes! 3 cheers for a romantic comedy set outside of NYC

- A little too much "men aren't ready for fatherhood, want to be a cool dad, and wish they were still single" jokes. Come on guys, grow up.

- 3 supporting actors from Bridesmaids- Ben Falcone (the air marshall), Rebel Wilson (the British roommate), and Wendi McClendon-Covey (the frazzled mom bridesmaid.)  All very funny, again!

- A few totally gross out but totally laugh out loud moments.  Pregnancy- its apparently hilarious.

-A few teary eyed moments.  Babies- apparently they're pretty cute.

- At least one glance at your watch.  The movie is just a tad too long.

-A fun, sweet, and different take on the ensemble romantic comedy.

What To Expect When You're Expecting, rated "PG-13," comedy, starring Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Elizabeth Banks, Chace Crawford, etc etc etc "B"

Happy Monday- Another date with Elton John

Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was filled with sunshine, new movies, fun date nights

and crying over Kristen Wiig

Sidenote: I really feel that Kristen and Jason Sudekis had a moment there. I know he's with Olivia Wilde but wouldn't they make a kickass couple? Being CFC means wishing everyone was in love with whomever you deem to be their soul mate.

A quick recap of what I've been up to lately:

We talked floral footwear and musicals- April Showers and May Flowers
and celebrity couples and their style choices- A Date with Elton John
I traveled to DC
and Baltimore
I saw The Avengers once
but reviewed it twice.
And I previewed summer's most anticipated flicks

The biggest news of last week was this preview for Mindy Kaling's new show- which will be on Fox this fall! Not only does it look amazing but it provides us with even more reasons that Mindy and I are destined to be BFFs. Case in point:

First, Chris Messina (aka Amy Adam's hubby in Julie and Julia) makes a "date with Elton John" joke at Mindy's outfit. Guess who made a date with Elton John joke FIVE DAYS before this trailer was released? Moi! Next, "Right now, your life is not a romantic comedy!" warns Mindy's friend. Maybe because she was trying to APPLY THE RULES OF A ROMANTIC COMEDY TO EVERYDAY LIFE?!?!!?

Seriously Mindy, call me, text me . . . we can gchat?

MTAD X 2

If someone were to ask me "what kind of movie would you love to see in theaters?" I would say:
A romantic comedy starring half of the cast of Bridesmaids, plus cute Ben from Parks and Recreation, and written and directed by a woman? ( Jon Hamm's lady!)

OR!

A musical set in the 80's, filmed in Florida, and starring 3 of my celebrity crushes- Julianne, Alec, and, yes, I have the hots for Russell Brand and I am not ashamed! Also, that cute guy who dated Spencer on Pretty Little Liars?

If someone were to tell me "those movies have been made! They'll be released in a few months!" I would say:

I've already watched the trailers 467 times.
